Heater Problems with 01' Dodge Dakota?
I got online read some forums. i replaced the fuses also and it boiled down to i had a bad heater fan. so i went out paid 90 bucks for it and turns out that that wasn't the problem. all tho that was easy to change it still doesn't work. i also read about the resistor but what i got from that was the heater blower would still work just on high. my question i guess is could that still be the problem its only like 12 bucks to replace but i just want to be sure.
that's the only speed you will have if the blower motor resistor goes bad on those trucks it was designed to work that way so that if the resistor went bad you would still get heat to it,if its still not working then you have a bad switch on it,good luck.

2003 Dodge Dakota heater resistor and plug?
Can anyone tell me what year Dodge Dakota can I use the heater blower resistor and plug from?my plug was hacked off ny the previous owner! Also my Dakota is a 2003, and will a durango fit? One more thing does the dealer carry a pigtail harness for the resistor or does anyone know how much the complete harness will cost? Iam frezzing right now!!Tx
Yeah they ran the wires that were hanging from the plug into the resistor..
anything from 98 on up will fit it,they were all the same and used the same pig tail,that doesn't make any sense why someone would do that to a vehicle,all you,ll need to replace it the pig tail it can be spliced back in to it and it will be ok,any salvage yard will have one to fit that truck, good luck on it.,,PS if they ran strait voltage through the heater motor you,ll probably be replacing it pretty soon also,good luck.
