Crane Engine Hoist
Can you name that tool?
OK i know that the tool looks like and how it works but i can't figure out the name, where it's sold and how much it cost.
It's a engine hoist type thing, not to be confused with the big bulky hydraulic engine crane with wheels. This has no wheels it just folds or widens to the length of the front end upper frame right under where the edges o the hood rest.
It's made of 2 pieces of square tubing one into the other for adjustments, has 2 legs that stand on the front end frame supports over the engine and has a big screw with handles and a hook hoist capable of holding the engine without engine mounts connected or a jack under the oil pan.
It simply turns the front end of thr can into a jack support.
It's probably 3 1/2 feet long closed shut and 2 legs on each far side that look like flat plates designed to fit into the groves under the frame hood line.
Engine Support Fixture is the most commonly used, generic name. They come in various configurations, but they all go across from one strut tower to another, and most then have 1 or 2 pieces that go from that member to the radiator core support.

Stimulus Grant Allows Scarano Boat Building, Inc to upgrade Overhead Bridge Crane
Woburn, MA-North American Industries (NAI) recently designed and manufactured an overhead crane for Scarano Boat Building, Inc. in Albany, NY. Located in the Port of Albany, Scarano designs and builds custom yachts that range from sailing to power vessels. Scarano is also responsible for restoring great historical vessels to be put on display at museums.
Scarano was recently awarded $376 thousand in federal stimulus money under the Maritime Administration's Small Shipyards Grant Program. As part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 ('ARRA"), the federal government has allocated $98 million for the capital improvement of small shipyards and for worker training in maritime industries.
NAI will install a 10 ton, Class D, single-girder overhead bridge crane with a 63 foot span and a fully fabricated 140 foot runway system in Scarano's main construction facility. This crane will have a single trolley with a 10 ton hoist and a three ton auxiliary hoist working in simultaneous operation. NAI has also agreed to retrofit an existing three ton single-girder overhead crane. With an original span of 58 feet, NAI has been tasked to relocate the crane and reduce its span by six feet.
